Dining at a seaside restaurant and watching the waves break is typically a pleasant experience — until the waves get a little too close for comfort.
Breakfast-goers at Moby Dick in Santa Barbara, Calif. got quite the surprise over the weekend when a swell of large waves started hounding the restaurant — and one smashed through a window. Fortunately, no one was injured and customers were evacuated from the restaurant.
“High tide and big swell can make for some salty eggs!!” wrote another diner who captured the crashing wave from another angle.
A powerful winter storm brought much-needed rain, strong winds and a high-surf advisory to the area over the weekend, according to Santa Barbara’s Noozhawk.
