Vending Machines Give Water with E. Coli and Clostridium Perfringens

In 2014, the Forum Air Malaysia tested water from water vending machines. Many water samples violated standards for clean drinking water. E. coli and Clostridium Perfringens were present. Consumers who drink contaminated water will get upset stomachs, including food poisoning. After being given these results, the Ministry of Health conducted tests on 630 machines. Under new regulations, water vending machine owners who fail to comply with water quality standards could pay a fine of RM5,000 or serve a two-year jail sentence. Read more here:
