Urban-stream, estuary, and Jinzhou Bay in China is one of the world’s most polluted coastal systems with heavy metal contamination. Near the coastal industrial city, NE China, forty sediment samples were analyzed for heavy metal contamination. All the averages were higher than the national guideline values of marine sediment quality of China. The most polluted samples came from the estuary, signalling a high potential for ecological risk.
