A salmon farm off the coast of Chile cannot be harvested because of harmful algal bloom (HAB). The affected company is implementing contingency and mitigation plans. Off the coast of Chile, the harmful algae bloom has caused significant fish mortality. The affected company, Multiexports foods, had a total of 1.85 million Atlantic Salmon that are in the fifth or sixth months of production. Monitoring phytoplankton is included in the company’s ongoing monitoring.
