This study maps and quantifies the water footprint. It reports on consumptive use of rainwater, groundwater, and surface water. The study estimates water footprints for each nation from both a productions and consumption viewpoint. The main determining factors for water footprint are the consumption pattern and water footprint per ton of product; agricultural production accounts for 92%.
