Georgia’s Citizens and Community Leaders Are Concerned About Clean Water

This week, citizens and community leaders from around Georgia voiced their concerns and stories about the safety of their drinking water. During a time when the United States is transfixed on water issues in Flint, Michigan, communities in Georgia also continue to struggle with water contamination. Among other contaminants, arsenic, bacteria, and uranium have infiltrated drinking water wells and other groundwater sources. One mother found high levels of arsenic in water for her family. She met with city officials, who invested in technology and sought funding to remove the contaminant. Read more online:
