Keelung Area May be Latest Victim of Grounded Ship’s Oil Spill; Fish Test ‘Safe’

A grounded ship in New Taipei City’s Shimen District spilled oil. Keelung might be a new area to suffer pollution from the spill. The Fisheries Agency tried to reassure the public that the oil spill did not disturb local aquatic products. The Fisheries Agency claimed that products from Keelung remained safe. Visitors to local fish markets substantially decreased after the spill all the same. Last month, the fish catch in Fuji Fishing Harbor in Shimen was stable. Despite that, the Fisheries Agency established a task force to check potential ecological damage “and seek compensation from TS Lines.” For more details read here :
