The Tibetan Plateau has long been a place of importance concerning water to the nations surrounding it. Because the Tibetan Plateau has the ice-filled Himalayas, it is a vital water source to growing nations such as China and India. The ice melting in a continuous cycle has provided a somewhat steady source of water for certain parts of the surrounding nations.
