Iowa May be Seeing its Water Pollution from Nitrates

In response to a guest column in The Gazette by Frank J. Zieser, a farm bankruptcy lawyer, Tom Fiegen wrote his own column contradicting the prior’s claim that homeowners were at fault for Iowa’s water pollution. In his article, Fiegen writes that although nitrogen is the prime pollutant in concern, it is much more massively produced in Iowa’s farms (mainly because of the certain methods they use). Nitrates have been linked to causing cancer and as Fiegen claims, numerous Iowans have already fallen prey to the disaster. Read more about the debate here.
