In Perth, Australia, water supplied to a yet-unopened children’s hospital had lead contamination. However, the source of the contamination is unclear. Some evidence indicates that water being supplied to a nearby hospital also contains lead. This evidence was provided by government officials. Albeit government officials and WaterCorp assure the public that the water supply is safe. “The Environmental Health Directorate in the Department of Health has reviewed both reports, which document compliance with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines,” says WaterCorp representative in a public statement.
