Cape Town is facing a drought. Conservation restrictions have been imposed. But the water must be pumped to an expanding city with a growing population through a system that has a 15% leakage rate. Rain this year is missing the dam, so Cape Town is looking into alternatives, including desalination, stormwater, groundwater, and simple, household grey water systems. There also needs to be policy changes.
