Pesticides are used all over the world in order to sustain the demand for food. However, the spraying of chemicals in the agricultural sector can have significant negative impacts on the environment. They especially affect the aquatic ecosystem and human life.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are Pesticides?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Pesticides are chemicals that people use to <\/span>control pests<\/span><\/a>. A pest can be any living organism that causes economic damage or disease. For example, many insects, rodents, and fungi cause damage to domestic and agricultural spaces. Thus, they\u2019re considered pests.<\/span><\/p>\n

Currently, there are <\/span>800 pesticides<\/span><\/a> registered in the United States. However, these pesticides can cause negative health effects, contaminate the environment, and impact wildlife.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
